A photo of the tattoo on Adam's left arm. Recognize it?
Adam's mother writes: "First off, Adam has tattoos. Actually, a fairly big one on his left arm just above the elbow and below the shoulder. The second one is found on his left wrist. Some might recognize the first as the cover of the Duran Duran album cover, Rio. Why the hell would he have that on his arm? Well, it's a painting by the celebrated artist of the 1980's, Patrick Nagel. Adam says that he never really understood art until he saw athat picture of Rio and loved it so much he put it on his arm, even though he never was a fan of Duran Duran. he had it done when he was seventeen and then in the summer of 2001 he gave her a face lift by having detail done to the tattoo. The second one on his wrist, he tattooed the word ANGELSPACE (Don't worry, it's very small). Why angelspace? When Adam was nineteen, he was in a band with that name and thought he was a rock star, so he tattooed it. (The band never even played a show!) Although it lasted only a summer, now to Adam that tattoo symbolizes an important period of his life, as it proved to be a major turning point for him. I guess he finally figured out what he really wanted to do and pursued acting and all the ups and downs that went with it. Eventually, he even got to act out his adolescent dream fo being a rock star in the Def Leppard story. So maybe he will never truly grow up, he loves the fantasy world too much!
